Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, MLA, has called upon student leaders to be “leaders of principle, leaders of integrity and leaders of ideology” rather than power mongers.
Addressing the 34th general session of the Phekmi Collegiate Forum (PCF) at Phek Village Community Hall under the theme “Higher & Wiser for a Stronger Tomorrow”, Azo reminded that the legacy one leaves behind is more important than present status or position. “We must create a legacy that will be loved, remembered and cherished forever,” he said.
He urged leaders to take decisions in the greater interest of the Nagas and not for selfish ends or tribal interests. As Christians, he cautioned against choosing convenience over obedience, enthusiasm over reverence, or favouritism and nepotism over rights. “Our intentions should be clear on what is right and deliver justice to the people we serve,” he added, stressing that while positions may end, legacies endure beyond death.
PCF president Veshe Chizo, in his address, said the theme called upon students and educated members of society to aspire not only for academic achievement but also for wisdom rooted in values, discipline, faith and social responsibility. He maintained that knowledge guided by wisdom alone could contribute to building a better tomorrow.
Chizo reiterated PCF’s role as a responsible intellectual body committed to social, educational and spiritual development, and urged members to uphold unity, moral integrity and a spirit of service.
Chakhesang Public Organization (CPO) president Vezuhu Keyho and Phek Village Council chairman Chivozo Soho also spoke at the session. Reports were presented by PCF general secretary Vephiyi Soho and statistical secretary Krove Hoshi.
PCF currently has 2231 registered members. Acknowledgement and felicitation was led by joint secretary Nuvevo Venuh, while review of resolutions was conducted by Kho-o H Keyho. Rev. Vesito Venuh, pastor of Phek Village Baptist Church, pronounced prayer for the new team of executives and advisors for the tenure 2026–2028.
The programme was chaired by PCF joint secretary Vepo Soho, with vote of thanks proposed by finance secretary Nukuta Chizo. Meanwhile, Veshe Chizo will continue as president of PCF till 2028, with Thuputo Venuh as general secretary among others.
