A 22-member contingent from Nagaland returned with an impressive medal haul from the North East Zone Inter State Badminton Championship held in Agartala, Tripura, from September 4 to 7, 2025. The team, led by Er. Moamongba Longchari as manager and coached by Tajenkaba Ao and Shri Raju Chetri, underwent a rigorous 20-day training camp at the K. Kire IPS Indoor Stadium, Police Complex, Chumoukedima, prior to the tournament.
The Nagaland team showcased commendable skill and determination across multiple categories, securing medals in both senior and junior events:
Gold: Peramrisi Zeliang & Miss Debahuti Lahon – Senior Mixed Doubles
Silver: Debahuti Lahon & Miss Shekhotolu Puro – Women’s Doubles
Silver: Kim Kim Khongsai – Junior Girls Singles
Bronze: Women’s Team Event
Bronze: Peramrisi Zeliang & Teichang Herie – Men’s Doubles
Bronze: Kim Kim Khongsai & Miss Ponlih A. Konyak – Junior Girls Doubles
Bronze: Merentemsu Temjen & Miss Kim Kim Khongsai – Junior Mixed Doubles
The Nagaland Badminton Association (NBA) extended heartfelt congratulations to all medal winners, coaches and the team manager for their outstanding performance. Special appreciation was also conveyed to Director General of Police, Rupin Sharma, and his team at the Nagaland Police Complex, Chumoukedima, for facilitating the training camp.
