Nagaland bags PMAY-U award for BLC housing

DIMAPUR, OCT 5 (NPN): Nagaland has been awarded among the “Best Performing State in North Eastern and Hilly States and Union Territories” category under the Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC) vertical of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) Awards 2026.
The award was presented by Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Tokhan Sahu on October 5 during the celebration of World Habitat Day 2026. Nagaland received the recognition for the highest completion of BLC houses against the total sanction under PMAY-U. The state was represented at the event by commissioner & secretary, Municipal Affairs, Kekhrievor Kevichusa, and director Municipal Affairs and State Mission Director, PMAY-U, Temjenrenla Kechu.
