Business Association of Nagas (BAN), in collaboration with the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), organized a comprehensive capacity building programme on February 13 aimed at enhancing financial literacy and strengthening awareness of MSME-oriented schemes and credit facilities.
The session offered participants an in-depth overview of SIDBI’s direct lending products, including EXPRESS, SPEED, ARISE, and STHAPAN. These schemes provide financial assistance ranging from Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 50 crore to support business expansion, modernization, working capital requirements, and greenfield projects. Special emphasis was placed on the PRAYAAS scheme for informal micro enterprises, Green Finance initiatives, and GST Sahay, an invoice-based financing solution. The programme also highlighted thematic products designed to promote entrepreneurship among women, SC/ST communities, and export-oriented businesses.
Facilitated by BAN members, the interactive session sensitized participants to the importance of financial preparedness, structured business planning, and compliance with procedural requirements for availing institutional credit. Entrepreneurs were guided through eligibility criteria, digital loan application processes, and prudent financial management practices to enhance their readiness for formal financing. Approximately 46 members attended the programme and actively participated in the discussions, seeking clarifications and gaining practical insights into accessing institutional financial support.
