Nagaland Ban on import and export of pork in Tuli

DIMAPUR

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Imsenperong Wati, Tuli Sub-division, Mokokchung has imposed total ban on the slaughter, import, export and transportation of pigs and pork products in Tuli Sub-Division after several pig were reported to be death with suspected symptoms resembling African Swine Fever (ASF).
According to the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, rapid test kits have indicated ASF like results and serum samples have been sent for laboratory confirmation. The administration has directed that all pig deaths must be reported immediately to the District Administration and the Veterinary Department. The ban will remain in force until further notice and any violation will be punishable under relevant laws, considering the urgency of the situation.
