Borlengri Baptist Churches Youth Fellowship (BBCYF) organised a drama competition on the theme “Corruption” on Sunday at Borlengri Ao Baptist Arogo.
A total of seven Churches participated in the competition, with most of the dramas highlighting the deep-rooted issue of corruption in society, with particular emphasis on corruption during elections, backdoor appointments in employment, and the widespread negative impact of corrupt practices.
Several performances also portrayed how corruption has affected many sections of society, especially the youth, by denying them fair opportunities and undermining moral values.
The competition was judged by Imkongchuba, Ariensa, and Rongsentiba Longkumer, all actors from Dreamz Unlimited.
In the competition, Borlengri Ao Baptist Arogo (BABA) emerged as the winner of the drama competition, while Lotha Baptist Church and Rengma Baptist Church Borlengri secured the second and third position respectively.
Best actor was bagged by Kumugha Zhimo of Süghuna Baptist Church and Best actress bagged by Purnungla, of BABA.
Earlier, the programme commenced with a worship session led by the BABA worship team. The programme was hosted by Sichule Seb, while chairman, BBCYF, Thungchamo Ngullie, delivered the welcome address.
Meanwhile, pastor, BABA, T Apok Jamir, exhorted the gathering, and also offered dedicatory prayer for the newly appointed office bearers of BBCYF.
BBCYF comprises of eight churches, which incudes Nagamese Baptist Church Waphong Taro, Süghüna Baptist Church Borlengri, Borlengri Ao Baptist Arogo, Borlengri Lotha Baptist Church, Yimkhiung Baptist Church Borlengri, Union Baptist Church Borlengri, Rengma Baptist Church Borlengri, and Hosanna Gorkha Baptist Church.
