Nagaland beat Mizoram 1-0, Manipur 3-0 in 79th Santosh Trophy group stage

Nagaland has made a strong start in the 79th National Football Championship for the Santosh Trophy 2025–26 (Group Stage), securing back-to-back victories against Mizoram and Manipur.
In their opening match, Nagaland edged past Mizoram with a 1–0 win, courtesy of an early strike by Yhoto Lhohe in the 7th minute. The decisive goal set the tone for Nagaland’s campaign.
Continuing their momentum, Nagaland delivered a commanding performance in the second match against Manipur. S. Ayenmongba opened the scoring in the 7th minute, followed by a goal from Yhoto Lhohe in the 40th minute. Ayenmongba sealed the victory with his second goal in the 53rd minute, leading Nagaland to a convincing 3–0 triumph.
With two consecutive wins, Nagaland has positioned itself strongly in the group stage.
The team will play its final group match against Tripura on December 19 at 7:30 p.m., where another victory could further boost their chances of advancing in the prestigious tournament.
