Nagaland Bharatiya Janata Party celebrated its 45th Foundation Day at the party’s head office in Kohima on April 7, in a solemn and spirited gathering attended by party leaders, workers, and well-wishers.
Addressing the gathering, BJP Legislature Party Leader, NEC member and deputy chief minister Y. Patton termed the day a “significant milestone” in the journey of the BJP, which began as a political movement rooted in service, commitment, and progress.
He highlighted the evolution of the party into the largest political organisation in the country, crediting its growth to the dedication of leaders such as Atal Bihari Vajpayee, L.K. Advani, Amit Shah, J.P. Nadda, and others.
Patton emphasized that BJP’s strength lies not just in its leadership but in its organisational structure and the discipline, dedication, and commitment of its workers.
He noted that the party’s vision, guided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, continues to focus on inclusive development through the principles of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas.”
The celebration was graced by several dignitaries including national vice president and MARCOFed chairman M. Chuba Ao, advisor and BJP state vice president Kropol Vitsü, advisor Kazheto Kinimi, advisor Pangjung Jamir, NSMDC chairman Kuputo Shohe, NEPED chairman Supongmeren Hoki, former minister Kashiho Sangtam, state BJP vice president and ex-MLA H. Haying, along with party functionaries.
The programme was chaired by Arvind Damani, NEC member of BJYM. Invocation was pronounced by Yovi Shohe, associate pastor, SABC Kohima.
The welcome address was delivered by Thomas Magh, BJP’s chief spokesperson. A special song was presented by BJYM Kohima, and the vote of thanks was pronounced by Ankit Jain, president of Minority Morcha.
