Nagaland: BJP Kiphire to contest 2028 polls independently

DIMAPUR

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kiphire District, in its district executive meeting held on December 15 at Seili Complex, Kiphire, unanimously resolved to contest the 2028 General Election in Nagaland independently, without seat-sharing.
A press release by its social media Convenor, Kiphire District, Chunseli, stated that th resolution, passed after deliberations on district and state issues, reaffirmed the party’s strength and vision.
The district executive expressed full support to State BJP president, Benjamin Yepthomi, and deputy chief minister, Y. Patton, acknowledging their leadership in advancing the party and fulfilling people’s aspirations. The meeting also pledged cooperation with BJP state officials from Kiphire District, recognizing their role in party building and progress.
The district executive extended appreciation to BJP Legislator incharge Kiphire and MLA, advisor for fisheries and aquatic resources, A. Pangjung Jamir, for his guidance and contributions to the party’s growth in Kiphire.
The district executive resolved to fortify the organization at the grassroots, expand membership, and ensure annual mandal-level meetings under respective mandal presidents, reaffirming unity and commitment to the party’s cause. Gratitude was also expressed to A. Pangjung Jamir for sponsoring financial support to the meeting, enabling its successful conduct.
The meeting was compered by BJP kiphire district secretary Henato Awomi, with recording by BJMM BJP Kiphire district general secretary L. Litsala, invocation by BJP Kiphire district secretary Rezila Sangtam, a welcome address from BJP Kiphire district vice president Charles.
Induction of new executives was conducted by BJYM state vice president K. Chumseli Anar and a vote of thanks by BJP Kiphire district vice president Thsasemong, benediction by BJP Kiphire district vice president Rukhuiiku, and ended with the national anthem.
Short speeches were delivered from 60 mandal president Kiumusu, 59 mandal general secretary Liose, BJP leader Thritsali, and BJP kiphire district vice president Thritongse.
The general secretary’s report was presented, after which BJP Kiphire district president Tali C. Sangtam delivered the presidential address.
