Reacting to Dr. Shürhozelie’s statement at a meeting with NPF members at NPF Central Office in Kohima on Friday, Nagaland state BJP unit president Dr. M. Chuba Ao expressed surprise and denied that the BJP central leadership communicated with Nagaland BJP president on the “present political imbroglio in the state.”
State BJP unit president denied having received any “communications or directives “from the central leadership adding if the claim was valid, the same would be “made known to the public in time.”
He also maintained that the president BJP unit Nagaland was not the “constitutional authority to summon or give direction to anyone in this regard”.
Chuba also categorically stated that the present political crisis was an internal affair of the NPF and that BJP as a partner was “pained by such development” and that NPF has to sort it out among themselves.
Reiterating that the BJP was ready to support a consensus leader to lead the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN), Dr. M. Chuba Ao said the present crisis needed to be solved in a “time bound manner” by Nagaland Governor.”
While stating that BJP Nagaland unit cannot afford to “lose National Democratic Alliance (NDA) era” due to the NPF internal crisis, Chuba urged the NPF leaders to amicably solve the crisis.
