Nagaland: Blood Donors Day observed in Mokokchung, Dimapur

Mokokchung Blood Donors Association(MDBDA) in collaboration with 12 Assam Rifles observed the National Voluntary Blood Donors Day was celebrated under the theme – ‘Share Life, Give Blood’, with the slogan, “20 years of celebrating giving: Thank you, Blood Donors”, at IMDH Conference Hall, Mokockhung on Tuesday.


Deputy chairman, Mokokchung Municipal Council(MMC), Lanuakum, graced the event as guest of honour. He called upon the authorities and association to conduct regular blood donations through promotional activities.

Later, Lanuakum and his co-councillor, Imlisanen donated blood, on occasion of the day, along with the other donors. The significance of the day was elaborated by MDBDA , Molo Jamir and the programme was chaired by Bendangtemsu Ozukum.

Invocation was said by Chrish Church Pastor, Imliwapang and vote of thanks by DPO (DAPCU), Makshi Jamir. In Dimapur, the day was observed at District Hospital, Dimapur Conference Hall under the theme “Celebrating 20 Years of Giving: Thank You Blood Donors” organized by NSBTC, Blood Centre Dimapur and DDVBDA.


Representatives from various organizations, colleges and unions attended the function and 30 units of blood were collected from the donors. Dr. Keveduyi Theyo, MS delivered the welcome address and stressed on the importance of blood donation. keynote speech was delivered by Dr. Rongsen Longkumer, I/c Blood Centre.
