A new book titled “The Digital Shepherd: Christian Guidance for Gen Beta in a Tech-Driven World” authored by Dr. Bendangliba Andrew was released and dedicated on Thursday at the Mokokchung Town Baptist Arogo (MTBA) Conference Hall by MTBA pastor, Rev. Ponen Longchar.
Addressing one of the most pressing questions of the digital age, the book explores how Christian faith can flourish amidst rapid technological change.
Drawing from the biblical metaphor of the shepherd, Dr. Bendangliba redefines spiritual guidance for a generation shaped by screens, social media and artificial intelligence.
Rooted in Scripture and contextualised for contemporary challenges, The Digital Shepherd offers practical insights for parents, pastors and mentors seeking to lead Gen Beta toward meaningful, faith-filled living in a tech-driven society. Highlighting Nagaland’s evolving social and spiritual landscape, the author notes that the state stands “at the nexus of tradition and modernity,” and observes that today’s children are growing up “in a world where the internet is their playground, smartphones are their first books and artificial intelligence shapes their learning.”
The book calls on Christian leaders and parents to respond with wisdom, compassion and courage — not to reject technology, but to redeem it for good.
Described as both reflective and practical, the book is an urgent call for Christians to engage the digital world faithfully. “It is not about rejecting technology but about guiding young people with wisdom and faith through it,” Dr. Bendangliba stated.
The programme was chaired by MTBA associate pastor Monglier, with the invocation pronounced by deacon Pona.
The book will be available across Mokokchung and other districts, as well as online. For purchase enquiries, interested individuals may contact 6009140646.
