Nagaland bow out after pre-quarter loss at SGFI Under-17 Girls’ Football

Nagaland’s campaign at the 69th School Games Federation of India (SGFI) 2025–26 U-17 Girls’ Football Tournament came to an end following a 0–4 defeat to Haryana in the pre-quarterfinal at Khelgaon Stadium, Ranchi, Jharkhand on Sunday.
Nagaland were held to a goalless draw by KVS in their opening group match on December 19.
On Day 2 of the tournament, Nagaland again played out a 0–0 draw against IPSC in their first match before registering a dominant 8–0 victory over Vidya Bharati in their second group fixture on December 20.
In the match against Vidya Bharati, Zemloi T Konyak scored five goals in the 5th, 10th, 31st, 34th and 59th minutes.
Other goals were netted by Lhuvekulu in the 37th minute, Rokothono Thami in the 47th minute and Rukukholu Shijoh in the 52nd minute.
Nagaland faced Uttarakhand in their final group match on December 21, with qualification at stake. Nagaland secured a 4–1 win to advance to the pre-quarterfinals.
Goals for Nagaland were scored by Rokovino Yongo in the 7th minute, Zangloa Konyak in the 20th minute, Zemloi Konyak in the 40th minute and Lhuvekulu in the 57th minute.
In the pre-quarterfinal encounter, Nagaland were defeated 0–4 by Haryana, bringing their tournament journey to a close.
The Nagaland team was managed by P. George Vizo, with Kevilebei Zashümo serving as the team coach.
