Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement celebrates NCYM Day 2025

DIMAPUR

The Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement (NCYM) celebrated NCYM Day 2025 with fervour and unity across its parishes and centres on September 14, reaffirming the commitment of Catholic youth to faith, service, and leadership in the Church and society.
This year’s central celebration was hosted by St. Peter’s Church, Tesophenyu, and coincided with the tricennial jubilee of Kevin Magh. The event was held under the theme, “You also are my witnesses, because you have been with me” (Jn. 15:27), reflecting the movement’s mission to nurture steadfast Christian witnesses.
The Holy Eucharistic Celebration was solemnly presided over by former NCYM Director, Rev. Fr. Philip Magh with Rev. Fr. John S. Kavas (Parish Priest, St. Peter’s Church, Tesophenyu), Rev. Fr. Kokto Kurian (NCYM Director), Rev. Fr. Joseph Kath (Parish Priest, St. Ignatius Parish, Razeba), and Fr. Ashikho Abraham (Parish Priest, St. Peter’s Parish, Atoizu) as concelebrants.
In his address, Rev. Fr. Kokto Kurian congratulated the achievers and emphasized the significance of the day’s theme. He described the Cross as a symbol of love, sacrifice and victory, urging the youth to embody these values and remain faithful witnesses of Christ in their everyday lives.
Following the Mass, a felicitation programme was held to honour NCYM achievers for their dedication and contributions.
The celebration concluded with a joyful fellowship meal, reinforcing the spirit of communion and solidarity among the participants.
NCYM Day is observed annually to commemorate the foundation of the movement and to renew the spiritual and social commitment of Catholic youth across Nagaland.
