Chümoukedima Chamber of Commerce and Trade Association (CCC&TA) has expressed serious concern over business unions from other districts, areas and town(s) interfering in Chümoukedima town by forcing and threatening business establishments/traders to register in their unions.
CCC&TA through its media cell has warned the concerned union(s) to refrain its activities in Chümoukedima jurisdiction immediately to restore understanding and respect.
Besides, CCC&TA also raised concern over illegal taxation, forced collection, intimidation and threat against the business community in Chümoukedima town.
Asserting that illegal activities were likely to increase in town with the onset of festive season, the CCC&TA has warned individual or group (s) to refrain from such activities.
CCC&TA reaffirmed “one government, one tax” resolution by the citizens of Chümoukedima town at public rally at Saturday Bazaar in 2014.
Strongly opposing any form of force collection / taxation / extortion, the association warned that if anyone from the business community was found paying ‘taxation’ to any individual or underground groups, stern actions would be taken against the defaulters.
Further, CCC&TA warned of any artificial price rise taking the advantage of festive season.
In the event of any discrepancies or misunderstanding, the association said it should be reported to the competent authority immediately.
All the business establishments have also been directed to clean their shops and surroundings clean throughout the season. CCC&TA wised all the traders of Chümoukedima town a Merry Christmas & a very Prosperous New Year 2026.
