Nagaland: CCSA holds 2nd Cultural Meet at Lower Khomi

Centre Chakhesang Sports Association (CCSA) conducted its 2nd Cultural Meet under the theme “Sowing seeds of our culture: Harvesting a brighter future” at Lower Khomi village in Phek district on Wednesday.
Thiipuvecho Vadeo, president of Chakhesang Union Chümoukedima, graced the occasion as the special guest. In his address, Vadeo encouraged youngsters to avoid imitating western culture and urged them to uphold their unique traditions. He also stressed the need to adopt the traditional process of selecting leadership practiced in earlier times.
Greetings were shared by Sekriizii Area Sports Association (SASA) president Khokuto Sapu, while a short speech was delivered by Veyesa Khesoh, ex-VCC.
The inaugural programme was led by Vesiito D. Vadeo, CCSA representative to PDSA, while Vepothi Lala, pastor of LBC, invoked God’s blessings. The welcome address was delivered by CCSA president Dode Nakro. Pholami Youth Organization presented a folk tune.
The cultural meet featured competitions in Makro Phetho, Roce Kiice, Mikiina li, Mida li with tati, Mikiina dotho, Mucii, Thiizo Siipiih (Women) and Phesii.
Judges included Riiyingoyi Tetseo, Theyeta Nakro, Shevociiyi Thuluo, Vezota Nakro, Miidosii Kezo, Vezhosayi Lohe and Thiijoveyi Keroh. Prize distribution was led by CCSA social and cultural secretary Therayi Lohe, while the vote of thanks was proposed by CCSA advisor Thiivoswiiyi Lohe. De-hosting and act of blessing was pronounced by Vepoduyi Vero, associate pastor of Upper Khomi Baptist Church.
The event was compered by Vediisalii Tetseo and Veyozo D. Vedeo, and hosted by Lower Khomi Youth Organization.
