Demands resignation of CFMG chairman
Chümoukedima District Village Councils’ Association (CDVCA) has strongly condemned December 15, 2025 incident at Aoyimkum village, where armed cadres from an NSCN faction allegedly entered a private residence, fired sophisticated weapons in the presence of civilians, terrorised residents—including senior citizens—and abducted several bona fide villagers.
In a press release, CDVCA convenor Razouvotuo Chatsu and secretary Vika H Chishi dubbed the
claims by the faction of having a public mandate as “absurd and laughable.”
The association stated that that people of Nagaland have consistently given their mandate to elected state governments, not to the over 30 Naga political factions that have emerged in recent years.
CDVCA asserted that legality or illegality of activities of the local Naga entrepreneurs in the state such as call centres or otherwise, fell solely under purview of the state government.
CDVCA expressed the view that “altruistic services” of 30-odd factions should be acknowledged and appreciated.
However, it said that law and order was the concern of state government/ administration, and not of any other authority unrecognized by the law of the land.
As Naga political groups have signed ceasefire agreements with the Government of India, the CDVCA urged them to “calibrate” with the state government, which has the mandate of the people of Nagaland, and conduct themselves in accordance with the provisions of the laws of the land.
Stating that the ceasefire monitoring mechanism in Nagaland has been “an absolute disappointment”, the CDVCA has demanded that chairman of the Ceasefire Monitoring Group/Cell relinquish office immediately and enable someone to take up the concerns of the villagers of Nagaland.
The association also demanded that restoration of faith and confidence of the people of Nagaland to the institution of Statehood and Federal structure of the Nation.
It further demanded that illegal activities of everyone be brought under the ambit of the laws of the land, and penalized if and when applicable.
