Nagaland celebrates 54th Statehood Day

Nagaland on Friday celebrated its 54th Statehood Day. The day also marked the beginning of Hornbill Festival at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama.
Former chief minister of Nagaland and MLA, Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu, unfurled the National Flag at Nagaland House, New Delhi, as its staff celebrated the 54th Nagaland Statehood Day on December 1.
A press release from Nagaland House PRO, Kuolie Mere , said, Dr. Shürhozelie recalled that he had seen the, then President of India, Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, at Kohima on December 1, 1963 who had come to inaugurate Nagaland as the 16th state under the Indian Union. 
Dr. Shürhozelie also said that, today, the state had adopted a work culture that functions together with the union government.
Parliamentary Secretary for Sericulture, HG & CD, Namri Nchang, Parliamentary Secretary for Technical Education, N. Thomas Ngullie, visitor officers from the state and staff of Nagaland House, New Delhi attended the celebration.
NPF Minority Wing: NPF Minority Wing celebrated 54th Nagaland Statehood Day with social activities through distribution of food items to children at Ebenezer Orphanage Home Indisen and Akhil Bharatiya DVN Tribal Hostel, Dimapur on December 1. 
In a press release issued by general secretary NPF Minority Wing Central, Arun Mishra, stated that NPF Minority Wing Central, Bishnu Bhattacharjee and president NPF Minority Wing Dimapur division, Roshan Tamang along with officers have visited two tribal hostels. 
Bishnu Bhattacharjee greeted people of Nagaland on 54nd statehood day and prayed with his team for unity, peace and harmony.
 In his address, he said that Nagaland is progressing efficiently but need to educate students with latest technology available in India, as the present young generation of Nagaland are ultimate strength of the state. Co-ordinator of Ebenzer Orphanage Home, Akam Amri lauded the gesture and activities of Minority Wing for the people of Nagaland.
