Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (I&B), Government of India, in collaboration with Google and YouTube, has rolled out a nationwide Artificial Intelligence (AI) Skilling Programme to strengthen capacity in the Media and Entertainment (M&E) sector.
According to DIPR report, the initiative, anchored under the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025, seeks to democratise access to high-quality AI training for creators, developers and media professionals across States and Union Territories. The programme offers fully sponsored scholarships for premium courses, enabling participants to obtain industry-recognised certifications free of cost.
The curriculum is structured across two learning tracks—Foundational AI & Prompting, focusing on generative AI tools for creative ideation, storytelling and content development; and Generative AI Leader (GAIL), designed to help professionals understand the business value and responsible implementation of generative AI technologies.
Upon completion of Phase I, participants will be eligible to progress to Phase II, which provides hands-on training on advanced tools such as Vertex AI, Gemini and Google Cloud, specifically tailored for media workflows.
Students, creators and media professionals can avail of the opportunity by registering online at https://aiskillhouse.iict.org/. The initiative aims to equip India’s media talent with future-ready skills and enhance industry readiness in the rapidly evolving digital ecosystem.
