Nagaland Chess Association launches coaching programme

DIMAPUR, MAY 2 (NPN):

The Nagaland Chess Association (NCA) officially launched its Chess Coaching Programme at its office in Lower Chandmari, Kohima on May 2.
The coaching sessions will be conducted by Nagaland’s top-ranked players, Kevilekho Zumve and Melesai Dawhuo, who will serve as coaches for the initiative.
The programme aims to expand the state’s chess player base by nurturing new talent while also strengthening the skills of existing players in preparation for upcoming tournaments. Among the key events highlighted are the State Chess Championship — set to be FIDE-rated for the first time — and the 24th North East FIDE Rating Chess Championship 2026, scheduled to be held in Dimapur from December 15 to 19. The coaching programme is open to players of all levels, including beginners, intermediates, and advanced players.
The fee structure includes a one-time admission fee of Rs. 1,000 and a monthly fee of Rs. 1,000 per student.
Interested individuals may contact Vekukho Soho, Honorary Secretary of the Nagaland Chess Association, at 8837098422 for registration and further details.
