Nagaland Child Helpline informs on missing/abandoned child

DIMAPUR

The Child Helpline Dimapur has informed that a 5-year-old boy, Jareeb, was found loitering around Lhomithi colony junction, Dimapur on September 25.
A press release by the Child Helpline project coordinator, l. Alomi Sumi, on behalf of the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), stated that a concerned adult handed him over to the sub-urban police station, from where he was referred to the Child Helpline Dimapur and the child is currently under the care and protection of Child welfare committee.
Child Helpline 1098 Dimapur further stated that as the child is unable to provide any information about his home address, it requests any family member, relative, or guardian having information about the child to contact Child Helpline Dimapur – 1098 or reach out through the following numbers: 9362358230 / 6909005712/ 7005156893.
If no claim is made by the family, relatives, or guardians within 60 days, the child will be declared legally free for adoption and placed for legal adoption as per due process, the release added.
