Nagaland Children’s Day celebrated with joy and messages of empowerment

Dimapur

Children’s Day was celebrated with enthusiasm and warmth at Chavara Children’s Home, Naharbari, and St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, on November 14, commemorating the birth anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
At Chavara Children’s Home, a special programme was held with Aying Wangsha, member of the Nagaland State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NSCPCR), as chief guest, and Esther PC (IC), Dimapur, as special guest. The guests were welcomed by Sister Merin, along with the children and staff.
Addressing the gathering, Aying Wangsha encouraged the children to recognise and nurture their God-given talents, urging them to make the best use of their abilities. Esther PC highlighted the importance of child rights and advised the children to stay focused on their goals, avoid distractions, and aim high. The event featured performances by the children and concluded with the distribution of gifts and prizes.
Meanwhile, St. Mary’s Higher Secondary School marked the occasion with a Fancy Dress Competition in the school auditorium for students from Nursery to Class 7. Special students also participated, showcasing their creativity and enthusiasm. Certificates were awarded to the winners, and sweets were distributed to all the children, making the day memorable and inclusive.
