Civil works for the new Wokha Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex have begun at the new site, with CAWD Assistant Chief Engineer (ACE) Er. Sungtiba Amer leading an inspection of the project on Wednesday. He was accompanied by CAWD officials, administrative officers, engineers and the contractor.
During the visit, Er. Amer expressed satisfaction with the pace of construction but stressed the importance of maintaining quality and adhering to the stipulated timeline. He urged contractors to deploy adequate manpower, ensure uninterrupted material supply and maintain strict quality control, adding that departmental inspections play a crucial role in monitoring progress and safeguarding standards.
The upcoming complex will feature a G+1 structural design with two basement floors, accommodating multiple administrative departments under one roof. The work order was issued in June 2025, and the project is expected to be completed within 36 months. Approved by the State Level Project Monitoring and Implementation Committee (SLPMIC), it is being implemented under the State Earmarked Projects category.
Earlier in the morning at Tseminyu, CAWD officials inspected ongoing works including the new Deputy Commissioner’s Office Complex, the VVPAT strong room of the Election Department, and flat-type quarters for administrative officers. Officials informed that the new Tseminyu DC complex—sanctioned under State funding and the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme—had earlier faced delays due to site allocation issues but was now progressing steadily. The building will be a G+2 RCC structure with a 150-seater conference hall, accessible facilities for persons with disabilities (PwDs), and provisions for an elevator.
Meanwhile, in Akuluto under Zunheboto district, the newly completed ADC Office Complex is set for inauguration on Thursday. The event will be graced by advisor, CAWD & Taxes, Kudecho Khamo as special guest, with advisor, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services, Kazheto Kinimi as guest of honour. The ADC complex, a G+2 building, includes PWD-friendly ramps, accessible bathrooms and a conference hall, marking a significant infrastructural upgrade for the sub-division.
