Lead Bank Office Wokha, in collaboration with the After 20s Band, organized a cleanliness drive under the Swachhta Hi Seva campaign at Wokha on September 30.
The drive commenced at Public Ground, with NGOs like Metamorphosis, along with Tsumang Youth Organisation, New Wokha Village Youth Organisation, and New Wokha Village Student’s Union, nine bank branches and representatives from district administration Wokha participated in the cause.
Volunteers including representatives from various CSOs, carried out the drive at two locations, ie Public Ground Wokha and near Post office Wokha.
District Manager of Lead Bank Wokha, C. Yanthan, extended gratitude to all organizations and individuals for their efforts. He encouraged the people to be more mindful of waste disposal and to cultivate civic responsibility for a cleaner, better town mentioning that cleanliness was a moral responsibility which everyone should follow.
Members of the After 20s Band urged the people to uphold cleanliness and called everyone to stop littering and contribute in making the town a better place. They also expressed their gratitude to all the volunteers who took part in the drive.
