A delegation led by Nagaland chief minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio visited lower Tizu area under Pongro sub-division, Kiphire district from April 10-13, 2026 and inspected the progress of various development projects undertaken by state government.
According to a DIPR report, the four-day visit included touring the construction of tourist amenities centre at Lower Tizu, construction of various roads including lower Tizu road via Moya and Setsu-Lalori-Phor road.
The delegation also visited Ranyak Khun Cave, Mimi and interacted with the members of Mimi Circle Joint Council, where scope for future developmental projects was also discussed.
The report stated that Kiphire district administration along with police forces played an important role in making this visit a huge success.
The chief minister was accompanied by his wife and a team of delegation comprising of deputy chief minister Y Patton; minister for rural development and SIRD, Metsubo Jamir; minister for women resource development and horticulture Salhoutuonuo Kruse; advisor school education and SCERT, Dr. Kelhrielhoulie Yhome; advisor geology and mining, DUDA, W Chingang Konyak; advisor new and renewable energy, NSDMA, Z Nyusietho Nyuthe; advisor home guard & civil defence, fire & emergency services, relief & rehabilitation, S Kiusumew Yimchunger; Y M Humtsoe, MLA; Dr. Tseilhoutuo Rhütso, MLA; Benei M Lamthiu, MLA; commissioner and secretary, geology & mining John Kevi Angami; and OSD geology & mining Kekhriezavi Lea.
