Nagaland CM, State BJP leaders rush to Delhi

Days after the NDPP, BJP and NPF signed a joint resolution, endorsing the concept of ‘United Government’ under the plea of facilitating the Naga political issue for achieving an honorable and acceptable solution, chief minister Neiphiu Rio, deputy CM Y. Patton, state BJP president and minister Temjen Imna Along and others have flown to Delhi Thursday to meet BJP central leader for an emergency meeting.

According to reports, the state leaders (except NPF) were summoned by the BJP Central leadership. Sources said that the state leaders will be meeting Union Home minister Amit Shah, during which the issue about the all party-government with inclusion of NPF will be discussed.  Though the NPF has not put any pre-condition in forming an opposition-less government, it is till not clear if the NPF will be accommodated in the cabinet.

As reported earlier, that in order to strike a balance, a cabinet post that fell vacant following the demise of senior NDPP member and minister CM Chang may be given to NPF with its leader TR Zeliang likely as deputy CM. State BJP sources had categorically stated that the BJP central leadership may not have issues with an all-party government in the State if the present ministry is not disturbed.

Rio earlier also hinted that the present ministry would continue even as an all-party government was formed. He had also asserted that an all-party government would send out a message for unity on the Naga issue whose solution was now in an advanced stage.
