Nagaland: CM’s condolence on thedemise of Dr.Joyce Zinyü Angami

DIMAPUR, DEC 12 (NPN)

Noted social worker Dr. Joyce Zinyu Angami, former president of Nagaland Medical Council (NMC) and director Kripa Foundation passed away early Thursday morning(December 11) in Delhi following a brief illness.
The body arrived Dimapur Friday afternoon and taken to Kohima for the funeral service and burial.
Dr Joyce, began her career working in Gynaecology & Venereology, Ormskirk and District General Hospital, United Kingdom before moving to Nagaland.
She worked proactively and tirelessly for HIV & AIDS prevention and substance de-addiction in the state.
CM condolence: State chief minister, Dr. Neiphiu Rio, has expressed grief over the demise of Dr. Joyce Zinyü Angami, former president of Nagaland State Medical Council and director of Kripa Foundation, who passed away on December 11 following a brief illness.
The chief minister expressed sadness at the passing away of Dr. Joyce, describing her as a dedicated and compassionate medical professional who devoted her career to serving marginalized communities. In his message, Dr. Rio highlighted her long-standing work with people living with HIV and AIDS, her fight against stigma, and her efforts to dispel harmful beliefs and discriminatory practices. Calling her “a true daughter of the soil,” he said her death was a profound loss for the medical fraternity and the people of Nagaland. Rio urged that her life be honoured by remembering her selfless contributions to Naga society. Extending condolences on behalf of his family, he prayed for strength for the bereaved family and eternal peace for the departed soul.
