Nagaland: CNFN for solution after 2 agreements

DIMAPUR, MAR 3 (NPN)

The Concern Naga Forum of Nagaland has urged that the 29-year-old Indo Naga political talks be brought to an early conclusion, stating that prolonged negotiations without implementation have heightened public frustration and uncertainty.
In a concept note, the forum said that despite years of dialogue between the Government of India and Naga Political Groups, a final settlement remains unresolved. It termed the Framework Agreement and Agreed Position as the most significant outcomes so far, and recalled that talks were declared concluded on October 31, 2019, under then interlocutor and Governor R N Ravi.
CNFN warned that reopening negotiations could dilute past progress, and maintained that nearly three decades were sufficient for political dialogue.
