The Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC) has extended its full support to the Joint Coordination Committee (JCC) and its demand that the state government “do away with nepotism and favouritism.”
In a statement, CNTC President Khondao Ngully and General Secretary Himato K Yeptho affirmed the JCC’s demand as “justified,” stating they were simply requesting the government to act justly. The CNTC expressed deep concern over the “government’s inaction,” which it said is “causing much inconveniences to common public” as the “government machinery has come to a standstill.”
The council directly questioned why the state government was “choosing an individual over the demand and interest of the entire government servants” and why it appeared “indifferent to the sufferings of the common citizens.” Asserting that “taking decisions after common people come out to the street was not a decision but would only exhibit their weakness,” the CNTC strongly appealed to the state government to resolve the JCC’s grievances “before it becomes late.”
