Nagaland on Saturday reported 16 fresh COVID-19 positive cases while nine more persons recovered from the virus, taking the state’s total tally to 748– 435 active and 313 recovered cases as on July 11.
According to state Health & Family Welfare minister, S. Pangnyu Phom, 7 positive cases were reported from Kohima, Tuensang- 5, Mon- 3 and Mokokchung-1. All the positive persons were shifted to the designated COVID-19 hospitals for treatment and active surveillance and contact tracing activated to prevent further spreading of the infection. As per the severity of symptoms, 431 active cases were asymptomatic and 4 with mild symptoms.
Further, nine persons recovered from Tuensang Covid-19 Care Centre. However, they will be kept under strict surveillance, he said.
Till July 11, a total of 16,037 samples were sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 14,971 samples were received. Out of the 16,037 samples, 10,381 samples were received at BSL-3 lab and BSL-2 lab and a total of 9,889 samples tested, out of which 532 tested positive.
