551 active & 405 recovered cases
Nagaland on Friday registered 40 more COVID-19 positive cases while 14 persons also recovered from across the state, taking the total cases to 956– 551 active and 405 recovered.
According to state health minister, S. Pangnyu Phom 39 cases were reported from Dimapur and 1 from Peren. He also said that 14 COVID-19 patient from Peren had recovered on Friday. However, the recovered patients will be kept under strict surveillance, he added.
Meanwhile, several messages were being circulated on social media about five positive cases being reported from among the 15th IR Mahila personnel.
When contacted, a senior Health department official said that only one had tested positive. On the other hand, police sources informed that five personnel were placed at the designated COVID-19 Care Centre. They were on posted at different locations for COVID-19 duty.
According to DIPR report, quoting the chief medical officer’s office, Peren, one non-health care frontline worker (security personnel) has tested positive for COVID.
Further, one person had also tested positive through TrueNat and was awaiting reconfirmation through RT-PCR. Another person who had tested positive through TrueNat had tested negative through ICMR testing facility. In this regard, the medical officials have activated contact tracing and active surveillance being undertaken.
As on July 17, a total of 17,570 samples were sent for testing through RT-PCR and results of 17,229 samples received. Out of the 17,229 samples, a total of 10, 009 samples were tested at the BSL-3 lab (NHAK) and out of which 570 samples tested positive.
At the BSL-2 lab (CIHSR, Dimapur), a total of 2,451 samples were processed and out of which 240 samples tested positive.
In addition, a total of 11,727 samples were sent for testing through TrueNat out of which 10,880 tested negative and 349 positive, which have been sent for confirmation by RT-PCR.
