The Carl Rogers Institute of Mental Health and Research Center marked its second anniversary with a grand celebration, featuring a distinguished lineup of speakers and performances that emphasized the institute’s contributions to mental health and well-being.
The event began with an invocation by Fr. C. Joseph, followed by a welcome address by Kezhazolie Cornelius Mere. An alumni student shared how the institute’s certificate course had positively impacted her life, particularly in parenting, highlighting the importance of mental health for personal and societal development.
Musical performances included a special song by Thulinthong T, creating a soulful atmosphere for the event. Dr. Zavise Rume delivered the keynote address, underlining the relevance of Carl Rogers’ philosophies in promoting personal growth and resilience.
A comprehensive report on the institute’s activities over the past two years was presented by Keluongunuo Liezietsu, reflecting its active role in mental health awareness and support services. Alumni member Thejangu Zumvu shared her transformative experience with the institute’s programs, stressing the need for increased awareness of mental health, especially among parents.
Dr. Viketuolie spoke on the significance of stress management and the importance of developing effective coping mechanisms. The celebration concluded with a benediction by Pastor Kanili Lohe. The institute reaffirmed its commitment to fostering mental health and providing resources to individuals and communities in need.
