Nagaland crush Mizoram by 177 runs

DIMAPUR, DEC 30 (NPN)

Vijay Hazare Trophy

Nagaland delivered a commanding performance to defeat Mizoram by 177 runs in the Vijay Hazare Trophy (Plate) List A match played at JSCA Oval Ground, Ranchi, on December 29.
Opting to bat first, Nagaland amassed a formidable 399/4 in 50 overs, the second-highest total of the ongoing season. The innings was anchored by Nischal D’s explosive 182 off 130 balls and Sedezhalie’s composed 124 off 118 balls, a partnership that combined aggression with technical assurance to put Nagaland in complete control.
In reply, Mizoram faltered under the towering target, finishing at 222 in 42 overs. Despite a valiant 104 off 105 balls by Sahil Reza, the chase lacked partnerships and momentum. Nagaland’s disciplined bowling attack, spearheaded by Imliwati (3/35) and Akavi (3/36), ensured a comprehensive victory. The result underscored Nagaland’s dominance with both bat and ball, marking one of their most emphatic wins of the 2025–26 season.

Angkrish, who was rushed to SDMH Hospital after a heavy fall while attempting a difficult catch against Uttarakhand and suffered an injury just below the neck, batted fluently to help Mumbai overhaul the modest target of 143 in just 24 overs.
The 21-year-old’s 66-ball unbeaten 68 was laced with six fours and two sixes.
