The Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) has announced a 15-day suspension of its ongoing protest following assurances from the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL).
According to CSU president Pfhulosara and general secretary Kuzoto Swuro, the decision was made after the General Manager of NHIDCL’s Project Management Unit in Pfutsero, on October 23, assured to address key concerns, which include project delays, environmental impacts, and community interests.
CSU acknowledged the commitment made by NHIDCL and emphasized that they would closely monitor the progress. They warned that if NHIDCL fails to meet the agreed-upon timelines or to fulfill promises as stated by CSU on October 16, they will resume their agitation.
