Nagaland: CTBC hosts 37th Chokri Area Baptist Youth Fellowship

The 37th Chokri Area Baptist Youth Fellowship (CABYF) was held at Chetheba Town under Phek district from January 9 to 11, 2026 hosted by Chetheba Town Baptist Church (CTBC).
The three-day fellowship witnessed participation of around 1,000 delegates representing Baptist churches from Chesezu, Chetheba Town, Kikruma, Khulazu Basa, K. Bawe, North Kikruma, Phusachodu, Phuyoba, Thenyizu and Thipuzu.
Rev. Dr. Chekroveyi Cho-o, executive secretary, CBCC, delivered messages on “Finding Identity in Christ” and “Do Not Defile Yourself”, urging believers to walk in sincerity and holiness. Rev. Küvemüriyi Vadeo, pastor, NCF Shillong, spoke on the theme “Grounded in the Word: Standing Firm in a Shifting Culture”, stressing the importance of a biblical foundation amid changing societal values. Rev. Vesüpra Tetseo, pastor, Chetheba Town Baptist Church, ministered on “Return to the Lord”, calling the youth to spiritual renewal and commitment.
Competitions were also held to encourage participation and fellowship among the churches. Judges included C. Kroso Kezo, Sekhoyi Chuzho, Posezo Nyekha, Vekusu Chuzho and Zhosazo Keyho.

  • Theme Song Competition: Chetheba Baptist Church secured first place, followed by K. Basa Baptist Church and Chesezu Baptist Church.
  • Bible Quiz: Chetheba Town Baptist Church emerged winner, with Kuveluyi Theyo named Best Quizzer.
  • Solo Singing: Veluvolu Rhakho of Chetheba won first place, while Tavelu Vero of Phusachodu and Rupfusato Theyo of Thenyizu took second and third.
  • Duet Competition: Thipuzu Baptist Church bagged first place, followed by Chetheba Town Baptist Church and Kikruma Baptist Church.
    During the fellowship, new office bearers for the 2026–2027 tenure were announced, with Zaveta Tunyi appointed as chairman.
