The Chang Wedoshi Setshang (Chang Students’ Conference) has imposed indefinite shutdown of the Assistant Registrar of Cooperative Societies (ARCS) office in Tuensang from November 19, alleging an illegal appointment and lack of response from the authorities.
In a representation addressed to the additional registrar of Cooperative Societies, through the deputy commissioner, Tuensang, CWS vice president Langasomba and asst. general secretary N Moa stated that it had earlier submitted a letter on November 3, 2025, demanding termination of one M Sangtsoi, who was allegedly illegally appointed as a Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) and later transferred from ARCS office, Tuensang, to ARCS office, Noklak vide an order dated October 10, 2025.
The students’ body claimed that despite setting November 8, 2025, as the deadline for vacating the appointment, the department had failed to issue any response, which it termed as disappointing and unacceptable.
Stating that repeated appeals had gone unaddressed, the Conference announced an indefinite closure of ARCS office, Tuensang, with effect from November 19 until the matter was resolved and appropriate corrective measures were taken by the competent authority.
CWS further cautioned that if any untoward incident occurred during the period of closure, the concerned department would be held solely responsible.
