Nagaland D Khel Council condemns bank robbery attempt

DIMAPUR

The Dapfütsumia (D Khel) Council, Kohima Village, has strongly condemned the attempted armed robbery that took place at the State Bank of India, Chedema Branch, on October 31. The incident, which involved armed intimidation and a threat to detonate an explosive device, is a direct assault on public safety, peace, and the dignity of our community.
A press release by chairman of D Khel Council, Pele Khezhie, stated that the Council expresses deep concern that such criminal act was attempted within its jurisdiction, adding that the act put innocent lives at risk — including bank staff, customers, and civilians in the surrounding area — and has caused fear and distress among the public.
The D Khel Council also acknowledged and appreciated the timely and responsible action of the Bank Manager in sounding the alarm, as well as the quick alertness of the female bank staff who immediately informed the security personnel.
The Council further urge the law enforcement authorities to intensify efforts in bringing the prime suspect identified as Vitoulu Domeh (35), s/o Kho Domeh of Zhavame, Phek to justice without delay, stating that crime of such nature must be met with firm consequence to deter any such attempts in the future.
The D Khel Council also appealed to the public to remain vigilant and to extend full cooperation to the authorities in the ongoing investigation, and reiterated its unwavering commitment to maintaining order and protecting the well-being of all residents and institutions within its jurisdiction.
The D Khel Council also placed on record its appreciation to the SIT of Kohima Police for their prompt and effective action in apprehending the prime suspect in the October 25 murder case of 22-year-old woman in Kohima.
