Nagaland: DAYO concerned over growing influence of armed elements

DIMAPUR, JAN 30 (NPN)

Dimapur Ao Youth Organisation (DAYO) has expressed deep concern over the increasing influence of armed and anti-social elements that threatened public safety, disrupt peaceful coexistence, undermined the rule of law, and created fear among citizens.
DAYO through its media cell urged all the communities to stand united and resolute against criminality, intimidation, and lawlessness in any form.
The youth body asserted that no individual or group had the right to operate outside the law. It cautioned that violence, extortion, and intimidation would not be tolerated in a civilized society.
DAYO also called upon responsible citizens, civil society organisations, and community leaders to remain vigilant and actively support lawful efforts to curb anti-social activities.
It warned that silence and inaction only emboldened those seeking to destabilize peace.
The organisation has appreciated the Dimapur police commissionerate led by commissioner of police, Aotula T. Imchen, for firm and timely actions in maintaining law and order, including operations that led to the arrest of alleged culprits linked to the Aoyimkum village incident.
Dimapur Ao Youth Organisation also commended DGP Nagaland Rupin Sharma for his continued commitment and proactive initiatives against criminal elements.
DAYO said that such decisive enforcement sent a clear message that crime would face accountability.
Affirming that justice must be delivered strictly as per the law, DAYO said that no section of society should take the law into its own hands under any circumstances.
It said that true and lasting peace could only be achieved through unity, discipline, mutual respect, and unwavering faith in the rule of law.
Reaffirming its commitment to safeguarding public interests, DAYO assured to continue to support all lawful measures aimed at ensuring peace, security, and justice in the state.
