Don Bosco Alumni Association (DBAA), Wokha Unit, conducted a career guidance-cum-orientation programme for Class X and XII students of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School (DBHSS), Wokha, on November 10 at the school’s Youth Centre.
The event featured two sessions led by Dr. Loyingbeni N. Ezung, MBBS, DGO, obstetrician and gynaecologist, and Echungbemo Erui, SDO (Civil), Wokha. Dr. Ezung addressed Class X students, offering insights into medical career opportunities, while Erui guided Class XII students on preparing for competitive examinations. Both sessions saw active student participation and interaction.
Earlier, Rev. Fr. Stephen Chazhisseril SDB, Unit Delegate of DBAA and principal of DBHSS, welcomed the gathering and encouraged students to pursue careers aligned with their interests. Delivering the keynote address, DBAA vice president (General Executive) Samuel Ezung urged students to remain focused and responsible, noting that academic degrees alone do not ensure employment.
In his orientation speech, DBAA president Wobenthung J. Patton outlined the association’s structure and ongoing efforts to nurture the student community through annual programmes, including career guidance. He encouraged students to grow into responsible alumni and future contributors to the institution. The programme was moderated by Renchilo Odyuo, vice president (senior), and Samuel Ezung, while Chonchithung Tungoe, secretary DBAA, recorded the proceedings. Chumthungo Mozhui, councilor of DBAA, delivered the vote of thanks. A total of 300 students from Class X and XII attended the event.
