A programme for the distribution of bicycles to girl students was held at the Office of the Border Magistrate, Tzurangkong, Mokokchung, on December 10.
According to DIPR, a total of 20 bicycles were distributed to 20 girls from GHS Tzurangkong, selected on the basis of criteria including distance from school and academic performance in the last examination.
The initiative was undertaken by Ajit Kumar Verma, Deputy Commissioner Mokokchung, in coordination with AGM (CSR) and Regional Manager, RBO Mokokchung, with the objective of supporting education in remote parts of the district. Members of Tzurangkong Senso Mungdang (TKM), faculty and teachers of GHS Tzurangkong, students and parents expressed gratitude to the Deputy Commissioner for the initiative and for giving due importance to the student community of this remote and underdeveloped region of Mokokchung district.
