Nagaland: Dense fog to persist across India, NE

DIMAPUR, JAN 4 (NPN)

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast continuation of winter intensity across the country from January 4 onwards, with cold wave conditions, dense to very dense fog and chances of rainfall or snowfall in several regions till January 9.
Further, as per IMD’s daily bulletin on Sunday, dense fog conditions are likely during night and early morning hours in isolated to some pockets of Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura till January 7.
Similar foggy conditions have also been predicted over Sub-Himalayan West Ben-gal and Sikkim during the same period.
It said that prevailing cold wave conditions coupled with reduced visibility due to fog could affect nor-mal life, particularly during early morning hours, and advised residents to take necessary precautions.
Large parts of northern, eastern and central India continue to reel under intense winter conditions, with dense to very dense fog, cold wave and cold day conditions persisting across several states.
