Well-known social activist and businessman of Dimapur, Prakash Bothra, passed away on January 24, 2026, around 3 a.m. at CIHSR following a road mishap on January 23 evening. He was 64 and is survived by his wife, a son, and a daughter.
Prakash Bothra was an active member of several community and social organisations. He served as president of the Rotary Club of Dimapur and the Oswal Samaj. He played a key role in establishing the Oswal Colony. He was also an executive member of the Shree Marwari Samaj.
In addition to his social work, Bothra was a prominent entrepreneur in the food catering industry, earning recognition for his business acumen and community contributions.
Scores of public personalities and mourners paid their last respects to the departed on January 24 before the cremation at 4 p.m.
