Nagaland Dimapur flags off territorial army mega rally for Northeast youth

DIMAPUR

Marking a significant opportunity for youth across the Northeast to join the nation’s Citizen-Soldier force, the first phase of a 15-day recruitment campaign, a major recruitment rally covering all ten Northeastern States, was flagged off by SDO (C), Dimapur, Wiridin at Bhagat Stadium, Rangapahar, Dimapur on November 15.
According to a DIPR report, reporting began at 0430 hours, with 344 candidates from 17 districts of Nagaland and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands participating. Candidates underwent full sequence of 1600m run, Physical Fitness Test (PFT), Physical Measurement Test (PMT), and medical screening, all conducted with transparency and strict adherence to standards.
To support candidates who travelled long distances, the 113 TA arranged free meals and drinking water for those who cleared the PFT. Additional facilities, including adequate toilets, water points, and sanitation support, were positioned throughout the venue to ensure comfort and hygiene. The smooth and orderly conduct of Day 1- enabled by 113 TA, Dimapur District Administration, and State Police – reflected the Indian Army’s commitment to fairness, discipline, and equal opportunity. The successful opening day sets a strong foundation for the days ahead, reinforcing the TA’s dedication to regional outreach, youth empowerment, and national service.
