Nagaland Dimapur police seize heroin from hit-and-run car

Dimapur police recovered suspected Heroin (Shanflower) from a vehicle involved in a hit-and run case on Friday.
According to Dimapur police PRO, one Wagon-R car (AS07P5457) hit a Bolero at Tragopan police Point, Dimapur and fled towards Khatkhati, Assam. PRO said search operation was immediately conducted and officer-in-charge Khatkhati police station was informed to look out for particular Wagon-R in his jurisdiction.
On the same day at around 3:20 p.m., PRO said Wagon-R car was found abandoned at Khatkhati. As such, the vehicle was towed to the place of occurrence (Tragopan Police Point) for spot verification.
After completion of spot verification, PRO said the vehicle was unlocked and thoroughly searched in presence of independent witnesses. During the search, PRO said the suspected contraband drugs (18 soap cases weighing approximately 230 grams) were found concealed inside a secret chamber of the vehicle.
In this connection, PRO said a case has been registered with East PS, adding investigation was on.
