Nagaland: DNSU appeals for setting up rehabilitation centres

Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) has expressed concern over the rampant use of drugs by the youngsters and students in and around Dimapur despite the efforts of the police department and various CSOs to curb the menace of drugs in the state.


DNSU through its media stated that noted that the union had been frequently raising the issue of drugs abuse. However, DNSU said the supply and sell of drugs in the district continued to increase.


The union has, therefore, urged the responsible department to take up measures that would further strengthen the effort to curb the menace of drugs.


DNSU also urged the state government to set up rehabilitation centres so as to accommodate the recovering drug addicts. It also appealed to the churches and prayer centres to establish counselling and rehabilitation centres to counsel about the menace of drugs to their congregations and the recovering drugs users.


Further, DNSU appealed to all the citizens to report any cases of selling and drug abuse in their colonies to the police.
