Nagaland: DoSE assures action, urges ANATG to resume duty

KOHIMA, FEB 12 (NPN)

Directorate of School Education (DoSE) has informed that the government has already initiated action to address the demands raised by All Nagaland Ad-hoc Teachers’ Group (ANATG) 2015 batch, and therefore earnestly appealed to the group to withdraw the ongoing cease-work and resume normal teaching in the interest of students. In a letter addressed to the president of ANATG-2015, principal director, School Education, Shashank Pratap Singh acknowledged receipt of various representations and memoranda submitted by the group regarding regularisation and other issues. The department placed on record its appreciation for the role played by ad-hoc teachers, particularly in remote and underserved areas, stating that their contribution to academic growth was duly recognised.
However, the department expressed grave concern that the agitation had led to prolonged disruption of academic activities in several government schools, causing academic loss to students, especially those preparing for the ensuing HSLC and HSSLC examinations.
The department assured that the legitimate demands of ANATG were under active consideration and that high-level meetings had been convened with concerned authorities to address the issues in a time-bound and constructive manner.
It also informed that communication had been received from the department of Personnel & Administrative Reforms (P&AR) vide letter February 11, 2026, seeking submission of additional documents and records in respect of 235 (61 Group A&B and 174 Group C&D) ad-hoc employees under the School Education department for examination by the Screening Committee for regularisation of their contract/ad-hoc services. The group has been requested to submit the required documents to the office of the undersigned.
