Nagaland: DoSE directive on NCERT SS textbook

DIMAPUR, MAR 3 (NPN)

Department of School Education (DoSE) has directed all heads of schools (government and private), booksellers (wholesalers and retailers), and library-in-charges to immediately seize and remove from public access all copies of the NCERT Grade 8 Social Science textbook (Part 2) titled Exploring Society: India and Beyond (First Edition, February 2026). The directive was issued pursuant to Ministry of Education Office Memorandum dated February 27, 2026, and Supreme Court of India order dated February 26, 2026.
DoSE informed that every copy of the book—whether in hard or soft form, in circulation, held in storage, retail outlets, or educational institutions—was required be forthwith seized and withdrawn from public access.
