Directorate of School Education (DoSE) has informed that admission for boys and girls to Class VIII in Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun, for the January 2027 term will be conducted through an entrance examination scheduled on June 7, 2026 (Sunday).
According to DIPR report, both boys and girls are eligible to apply. Candidates must be between 11½ and 13 years of age as on January 1, 2027, i.e., born not earlier than January 2, 2014, and not later than July 1, 2015. Applicants should either be studying in Class VII or should have passed Class VII from a recognized school at the time of admission.
The written examination will consist of three papers—Mathematics, General Knowledge, and English. The papers will be held from 9:30–11:00 a.m., 12:00–1:00 p.m., and 2:30–4:30 p.m. respectively on June 7, 2026. Candidates securing 50% marks in all papers will be called for an interview, the date of which will be intimated later.
Prospectus-cum-application forms and old question papers can be obtained either by online payment through the RIMC website (https://rimc.edu.in) or via speed post by forwarding a self-addressed slip (typed or written clearly in capital letters with pin code and contact number) along with an account payee demand draft of Rs. 600 for General candidates and Rs. 555 for SC/ST candidates. The demand draft should be made in favour of “THE COMMANDANT, RIMC FUND”, payable at HDFC Bank, Ballupur Chowk, Dehradun (Bank Code – 1399), Uttarakhand.
Applications must be submitted on the prescribed form along with the following documents: Birth Certificate issued by Municipal Corporation, Domicile Certificate, ST/SC Certificate, original certificate from the school principal with attested photograph stating date of birth and current class, photocopy of Aadhaar card (both sides), and two passport-size photographs. The completed application should reach the Directorate of School Education by April 5, 2026.
