Deputy chief minister Y. Patton has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Nzanbemo Tungoe, father of his Personal Assistant, Lithungo N. Tungoe. He described the passing as a profound loss to the community.
Patton noted that late Tungoe was a dedicated and respected community leader who served society in various capacities throughout his life.
Nzanbemo Tungoe was the Head GB of NST Colony, Wokha, and the incumbent general secretary of Wokha District Fair Price Union. His distinguished service record included two terms as president of the Wokha District GBs Association, two terms as vice president of the Nagaland GB Federation, where Nzanbemo Tungoe also served as finance in-charge, besides rendering valuable service as chairman of the Village Council, chairman of NST Colony, and as an executive member of the Lotha Hoho, among other responsibilities.
Recalling his contributions, Patton described late Tungoe as a man of humility, wisdom, and compassion, whose leadership and guidance were a source of strength for his family and the wider public.
He said the late leader’s service to the welfare of the people would be remembered with deep respect and gratitude.
Patton conveyed condolences to Lithungo N. Tungoe and all the bereaved family members and prayed that the Almighty grant them strength and comfort to bear the irreparable loss and that the departed soul rest in eternal peace.
