Nagaland: Elderly man killed in hit-and-run

An elderly man, age around 70 years, was killed in a hit-and-run incident involving a motorcycle near Unity Village, Chümoukedima, on Sunday afternoon. According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred between 11.30 a.m. and 12 noon opposite Faith Petrol Pump, when the pedestrian was struck by a motorcycle. The victim sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot. Sources said the rider later took the injured man to the Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR), where doctors declared him brought dead. Police confirmed the incident and said the accused was taken into custody, while investigation is underway.
